World Cup Willie was the first official mascot for the FIFA World Cup, being used to represent the 1966 FIFA World Cup in the United Kingdom. This was the first World Cup to have a mascot and the first to have merchandise other than programmes, shirts etc.
The 1966 World Cup Willie tankard has a 1966 flag logo to one side and World Cup Willie mascot and was produced by Gibson & Sons Ltd of Stoke on Trent underneath. The mug is quite to hard to find in very good condition and is very collectable. Bonhams have sold a couple in the past few years for up to £200.
