Montblanc Writers Edition – Carlo Collodi (2011)

Please share on your social media

The 2011 Montblanc Writers Edition honours Carlo Collodi. The design is part of Montblanc’s annual tribute to important literary figures and gives collectors a recognisable writing instrument associated with the author.

About the author

Carlo Collodi (1826–1890) was the Italian author of The Adventures of Pinocchio, the story of a wooden puppet who longs to become a real boy.

Pen design and identification

The 2011 edition has warm brown tones and decorative elements that refer to Pinocchio and the story’s characters. Its playful ornament makes it one of the most overtly narrative pens in the series.

Look for the story-related decorative details on the fittings as well as the overall brown finish.

Versions and collecting notes

The edition appeals to pen collectors and to Pinocchio enthusiasts; check that the decorative components are intact and original.

Before purchasing, check the writing mechanism, condition of the resin or metalwork, nib where applicable, and the presence of the original presentation box and papers. Fountain pen, ballpoint and rollerball prices should be compared separately; avoid assuming every version was produced in the same quantity.
