Montblanc Writers Edition – William Faulkner (2007)

Please share on your social media

The 2007 Montblanc Writers Edition honours William Faulkner. The design is part of Montblanc’s annual tribute to important literary figures and gives collectors a recognisable writing instrument associated with the author.

About the author

William Faulkner (1897–1962) was an American novelist whose works include The Sound and the Fury and As I Lay Dying. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1949.

Pen design and identification

The 2007 pen combines dark resin and contrasting metal with crisp geometric, early twentieth-century styling. Its restrained decoration reflects the period in which Faulkner developed his experimental fiction.

The pattern and proportions distinguish it from the more ornate editions of the 1990s.

Versions and collecting notes

When comparing prices, check the writing mechanism and whether the seller is offering a fountain pen or another instrument from the edition.

Before purchasing, check the writing mechanism, condition of the resin or metalwork, nib where applicable, and the presence of the original presentation box and papers. Fountain pen, ballpoint and rollerball prices should be compared separately; avoid assuming every version was produced in the same quantity.
