Montblanc Writers Edition – Miguel de Cervantes (2005)

Please share on your social media

The 2005 Montblanc Writers Edition honours Miguel de Cervantes. The design is part of Montblanc’s annual tribute to important literary figures and gives collectors a recognisable writing instrument associated with the author.

About the author

Miguel de Cervantes (1547–1616) was the Spanish writer of Don Quixote, one of the foundational novels of European literature.

Pen design and identification

The 2005 edition uses sculpted, period-inspired forms and contrasting warm-toned materials with metal fittings. Its decorative vocabulary evokes the world of Don Quixote and the Spanish Golden Age.

The cap, barrel proportions and engraved details are better identifiers than colour alone.

Versions and collecting notes

Request clear close-up photographs of decorative details and confirm the precise version before relying on a seller’s description.

Before purchasing, check the writing mechanism, condition of the resin or metalwork, nib where applicable, and the presence of the original presentation box and papers. Fountain pen, ballpoint and rollerball prices should be compared separately; avoid assuming every version was produced in the same quantity.
