In the digital age we live in, physical movie posters can command high values and collectors across the world have their own list of holy grail posters to own.
One such in existence is the 1972 one sheet poster of Stanley Kubrick’s disturbing masterpiece A Clockwork Orange.
Having been X rated on its first release it took another year for Kubrick to edit the film’s overly sexual scenes and was re released with a more acceptable R rating.
Having had a limited printing the poster replaced the image of Malcolm McDowell wielding a knife with the original artwork from Anthony Burgess’ original novel of the same name.
Because of the limited printing the poster can command up to $19,000.
Condition is everything with movie posters and this can include linen backed, folded or rolled.
The linen backed are perfect for framing while the rolling as opposed to folded will prevent creases in the poster itself.
