The most valuable of the Shelley designs are their futuristic designs of the late 1920s and early 1930s featuring strong colours such as the striking yellows of the Shelley Sunray pattern. The Sunray pattern featured on the Mode and Vogue shapes which are strongly influenced by the Art Deco movement with its streamlined geometric shape. The design was created by Shelley’s lead designer Eric Slater in 1930.

The bold yellows and black of the Sunray set against the Mode and Vogue forms create one of Shelley’s most popular designs. Vogue teacups are wider and shallower than Mode ones with both having solid handles.

The design can be found on dinner ware, and tea & coffee service related wares.
We have noted one Sunray colourway featuring green and red instead of the yellow and black.

Shelley Sunray Price Guide
