This duo were created by Shelley from characters by Mabel Lucie Attwell for the Shelley China Club USA. Lil Bill is a young boy wearing blue dungarees which falling down at the back and showing his bottom. Lil Bet is a young girl wearing a white floral dress and she is holding a boy doll. Both figures stands just under 5 and 1/2” high. The base is stamped with ‘Shelley Made in England’, ‘The Shelley China Club USA 1997’.
These later Shelley Mabel Lucie Attwell figures do not have the value or appeal of the early 1920s/1930s Shelley figures. But they are a nice pair and affordable for new collectors.
