The Clarice Cliff Rhodanthe pattern was introduced in 1934 and featured stylised trees with bold flower foliage with sinuous branches and trunks. The pattern became popular taking over from the famous Clarice Cliff Crocus design. We take a look at some Clarice Cliff Rhodanthe examples along with a realised auction Clarice Cliff Rhodanthe price guide. (Click for current Clarice Cliff Rhodanthe pieces on ebay).

There were several colour ways of Rhodanthe created including the main orange, a blue based version known as Aura, and a pink version known as Viscaria. Pictured below is a great example of the three colour ways on a Biarritz shape plate. They show how the colours were blended ‘etched’ into each other.

The Rhodanthe pattern can be found on many shapes including: Biarritz, Bonjour, cake plates, tea and coffee sets, sugar sifters, bowls and many different style vases.

The pattern was produced till after World War II so is one of the more common designs found and it can feature different base marks including Wilkinson and Newport.
