With the release of the Aardman Animations feature The Pirates, Robert Harrop have released a series of wonderful figurines based on character from the movies.
There are currently six characters in the series including: Pirate Captain, Polly, Scarf, Black Bellamy, Gout, and Cutlass Liz. Each character is being produced in a Limited Edition of 2,000.
Aardman co-founder Peter Lord returns to hands-on directing for the first time since ‘Chicken Run’, with a comedy adventure based on two books from the cult ‘Pirates!’ series by Gideon Defoe. Author Gideon Defoe has also penned the screenplay, which follows the Pirate Captain and his hapless, but faithful, crew of pirates. Throw in some nudists, lepers, Charles Darwin, a gang of school children and the pirate of the year award, and you’ll start to get an idea of the films rapid-fire, throwaway naughtiness!
