Swarovski Christmas trees in the US

This
year again, Swarovski will provide the extraordinary tree topper
for the Rockefeller Center® Christmas tree in New York City.
Swarovski crystal also proudly decorates the two Christmas trees
located in Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, as well
as “The Great Tree” at Marshall Field’s, State
Street, Chicago.

Mall
of America is the nation’s largest retail and entertainment
complex. The mall displays two separate Christmas trees during
the holiday season and thousands of sparkling Swarovski crystal
ornaments will adorn each one. Visitors can also enjoy “The
World of Swarovski”, a compelling exhibit highlighting
the history of Swarovski and its various product offerings.
For those seeking a special crystal holiday gift, a Swarovski
retail store is located on the second level.

The
infamous “Great Tree” at Marshall Field’s on
State Street in Chicago, Illinois, will also be dressed with
sparkling Swarovski crystal ornaments this holiday season. Three
crystal ornaments were exclusively designed for Marshall Field’s:
Snowflake, Cascade and Ball. Smaller versions will be available
for purchase at selected Marshall Field’s locations throughout
the holiday-selling season.
World-renowned French designer Andrée Putman designed
a one-of-a-kind crystal tree topper for “The Great Tree”.
Inspired by the Eiffel Tower, the tree topper is approximately
7’ feet (2.1 m) tall and features a chrome and black structure
covered with illuminated Swarovski crystal. The Great Tree will
be on display in the Walnut Room from November 12 until January
8, 2006. “The World of Swarovski” exhibit will be
on display and Swarovski crystal products are available for
purchase on the Home floor.

Shoppers at Marshall Field’s Watertower Place, also located
in Chicago, will have the pleasure of viewing eight chandeliers
from the Crystal Palace collection. Swarovski selected designers
and artists from around the world to exploit not only the beauty
but also the technical possibilities of Swarovski crystal. The
results are brilliant personal and innovative interpretations
of the chandelier. Designers include Yves Béhar, Tord
Boontje, Tom Dixon, Vincent Van Duysen, Michael Anastassiades,
Ferruccio Laviani and Georg Baldele.
On display from November 11 until January 8, 2006.

To celebrate these various happenings, Swarovski will donate
over USD 100’000 to the Starlight Starbright Children’s
Foundation from the sale of products in the 2005 Rockefeller
Center Collection. This organisation is dedicated to brightening
the lives of seriously ill children and their families.
