Late 1950s early 1960s Subbuteo issues

Included in the Subbuteo section of the August sale on Tuesday 12th September, are two hard to find issues both of which are being offered for auction by Vectis for the first time.

Subbuteo

‘Fivesides’ was the name given to the earliest five-a-side game and was played on a half sized pitch. This rare set dating from the late 1950s early 1960s, all original, contains a dark green cloth pitch, 2 white plastic goals, pitch surround with wire support, also included are the celluloid footballers, 2 brown balls and yellow and black bases, plus various leaflets.

The Subbuteo ‘Table Rugby’ 1950s version is in excellent to mint condition in a good plus black lift off lid box with paper label. The game was played with flat tokens with a picture of a player on a card insert, these were rolled on their edge towards the try line. This set, which is also all original, has accessories contained within sealed clear packets, plus dark green cloth pitch and various leaflets.

The sale also includes more recent issues including World Cup Edition with West Germany and Argentina.
