Pride Mountain Vineyards Support US Disaster Relief with Extraordinary Consignment


The Board of Directors of Pride Mountain Vineyards
today announced their intention to donate proceeds from the sale
of an exceeding rare and desirable 9-liter bottle of the maker’s
2001 Reserve Cabernet to The Baton Rouge Area Foundation and the
American Red Cross, the funds to be equally split between the
organizations, supporting ongoing aid to the devastated region.
According to the auctioneers Bonhams & Butterfields, a 9-liter
bottle of this vintage has never-before been offered for sale.

Bonhams To Sell Charlie Chaplin’s Hat & Cane


The trademark bowler hat and cane used by Charlie
Chaplin, the man who brought laughter to millions, worldwide,
in his role of the Tramp, will be sold in a sale of Rock n Pop
& Film Memorabilia sale at Bonhams in Knightsbridge on Wednesday
16 November 2005. Chaplin used these indispensable props throughout
his 22-year career.

T.S. Eliot’s Private Letters To Faber Publishing Family To Be Sold


An extraordinary and tender series of letters from the presiding
genius of 20th century poetry and author of The Waste Land, T.
S. Eliot (U.S.,1888-1965), to his godson, Tom Faber, will be sold
by the Faber publishing family this autumn. Bonhams will auction
the private and largely unpublished correspondence with inscribed
first editions of the poet’s work on Tuesday 20 September at 101
New Bond Street.

Bonhams To Sell £1-Million Iconic Henry Moore – A Seminal Work, The Visual Climax Of His Early Years

Bonhams
International Fine Art Auctioneers will sell the most important
sculpture by Henry Moore to appear at auction in recent
years on Tuesday 29 November 2005. Mother and Child, 1931,
described by Moore himself as “one of my best earlier
pieces” was purchased soon after Henry Moore’s
exhibition at the Leicester Galleries in the same year,
for just £18–18 guinneas. Today, the work is
estimated to fetch £1 million.
