A cabinet fit for a Prime Minister – Gladstone’s cabinets to fetch half a million at bonhams
A fine pair of early 19th century ormolu-mounted ebony cabinets belonging to the family of the Victorian Prime Minister William Gladstone (1808 – 98) is to be sold at Bonhams’ Sale of Fine English and Continental Furniture at 101 New Bond Street on 27 June. They are expected to fetch between £300,000 – 500,000.

A new auction world record has been achieved by Bonhams & Butterfields at its first US Golf Sale, held yesterday (5 May 2006) at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum, in Brookline Massachusetts. The dollar coin sized Bramble-patterned ball fetched a staggering US $10,516 and was bought by the renowned Minikahada Golf Club, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
