Franklin White Art & Art Book Collection

Franklin WhiteFollowing on from the very successful Franklin White Art sale at Unique Auctions in September 2012, the remainder of the collection including paintings and the Franklin White book collection are to be auctioned at Unique Auctions on the 10th June 2014.

The Franklin White Collection is coming to Unique Auctions, Lincoln on the 10th June. The sale includes some 800 lots including 650 lots of Franklin White art, 70 lots of Art Books and other books, and approximately 80 lots of other artists including William Daniel Penny (1834-1924).

franklinwhite2The book collection includes a number of rare editions relating to Samuel Palmer, art techniques and many large lots.

About Franklin White (1892-1975)

Franklin White. Franklin White was a teacher at the Slade School of Art for nearly 40 years and founded the Samuel Palmer School of Art. The collection includes artwork from throughout his career.

Works by Franklin White were in possession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, as well as The British Museum, The Victoria & Albert Museum, The Laing Art Gallery (Newcastle-upon-Tyne), The City of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, The Ashmolean Museum (Oxford) and The National Gallery of Victoria (Melbourne). His work has appeared in the private collections of Noel Coward, The Marchioness of Dufferin and Alva, and the Rt Hon Sir Alexander Cadogan.

The sale will be held on Tuesday 10th June 2014 at Unique Auctions, Hillcroft Business Park, Whisby Road, Lincoln, LN6 3QT. Viewing for the auction is Monday 9th June from 12-4pm and on the morning of the sale.
