The trunk has the number 819756 and has P & O Baggage Room labels marked Princess Stella of Kapurthala. The trunk includes a number of other labels and signage.
The web site https://www.kapurthalaprincess.com details the life of the Princess and makes very interesting reading: how she met the Maharajah, how he was captivated by her beauty and proposed through a letter, her travels to India and life as a Princess.
The Maharini was a seasoned traveller the web site details many notes on her travels. The trunk itself has Kapurthala markings on the side its entire Louis Vuitton number reads: LOUIS VUITTON VL 819756 VL, PARIS 70 CHAMPS ELYSEES, 149 NEW BOND ST LONDON, NICE, CANNES, VICHY.
