Spanish porcelain maker Lladró has unveiled one of its most unexpected collaborations to date, partnering with The Pokémon Company to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary with two handcrafted porcelain sculptures featuring the franchise’s most beloved characters, Pikachu and Eevee. The collection combines Lladró’s renowned craftsmanship with one of the world’s most recognisable entertainment brands, creating highly collectible works of porcelain art.

Lladro Pikachu and Eevee Sculpture

The collection will make its debut in Japan, the birthplace of Pokémon, before becoming available internationally from 1 June 2026. Collectors worldwide have been offered the opportunity to reserve the sculptures ahead of their wider release, reflecting the anticipated demand for what is likely to become one of Lladró’s most talked-about contemporary collaborations.

The centrepiece of the launch is the spectacular Pikachu & Eevee sculpture. Produced as a limited edition of just 288 pieces worldwide, it depicts the two Pokémon sitting together on a naturalistic base decorated with individually modelled flowers and foliage. Lladró’s sculptors carefully studied every aspect of the characters’ proportions, expressions and poses to ensure they remained faithful to their original appearance while translating them into porcelain. The result is a harmonious blend of Japanese popular culture and traditional European ceramic artistry.

The companion piece features Pikachu on its own, portrayed holding a small flower in a relaxed seated pose. The familiar bright yellow body, black-tipped ears, rosy cheeks and distinctive lightning-bolt tail have all been recreated using vibrant glazed enamels. Particular attention has been paid to Pikachu’s expressive eyes, where subtle glazing techniques create a remarkable sense of depth and vitality.

As with all Lladró creations, the sculptures are entirely handcrafted at the company’s workshops in Valencia, Spain. According to Lladró, more than 1,000 hours of sculpting, technical development and decoration were invested in bringing the limited-edition Pikachu & Eevee sculpture to life. Each flower and leaf surrounding the characters is individually modelled by hand before being assembled into the finished composition, demonstrating the level of craftsmanship for which the company has become famous over the past seven decades.

The collaboration arrives during a milestone year for both brands. While Pokémon celebrates its 30th anniversary, Lladró is also marking 70 years since the company began producing its famous porcelain creations. The partnership reflects the growing trend of luxury decorative arts companies embracing contemporary popular culture while maintaining traditional artisan techniques.

For collectors, the Pikachu & Eevee sculpture is expected to become the most sought-after piece in the range thanks to its extremely limited production of only 288 editions. Meanwhile, the standalone Pikachu offers fans a more accessible opportunity to own an officially licensed Lladró interpretation of Pokémon’s iconic mascot.

The collection demonstrates how classic porcelain craftsmanship can successfully reinterpret modern cultural icons. For both Pokémon enthusiasts and Lladró collectors, these sculptures represent an intriguing meeting of two very different collecting worlds—one rooted in European decorative arts, the other in one of Japan’s greatest global entertainment successes. With limited production and worldwide demand expected to be strong, the 2026 Pokémon collection is already shaping up to be one of Lladró’s most significant contemporary releases.
