Unleashing Espionage Fun A Spotlight on the Lone Star James Bond Pistols and Toy Guns Collection – Bond. James Bond. Since the world was first introduced to the secret agent back in 1953 through Ian Fleming’s novels, and later in 1962’s film, “Dr. No”, the allure of 007 has been irresistible. Among the elements that have fed this phenomenon are the weapons wielded by Britain’s most famous secret agent. We take a look at the Lone Star range of James Bond pistols and guns.

For decades, the UK-based company Lone Star has been at the forefront of bringing the magic of 007 into the hands of fans, young and old, through their meticulously designed and detailed toy pistols and guns based on those from the James Bond films. They’ve captured the imagination of millions, letting fans play out their own spy fantasies right in the comfort of their homes.

Lone Star began production of their James Bond inspired toy weapons line in the mid-1960s, when Bond fever was at its peak, after the release of Sean Connery’s early films. One of their first major successes was a faithful recreation of Bond’s signature Walther PPK. A tiny piece of plastic, yes, but to the children and collectors who owned it, it was an emblem of danger, mystery, and cool elegance.

The replica Walther PPK was not just a static model; it featured a working slide mechanism and could fire caps, giving it a thrilling element of realism. This commitment to authentic and interactive design has been a hallmark of Lone Star’s approach and continues to distinguish their Bond-themed toys.

Later, as the Bond franchise continued to grow, so too did Lone Star’s array of toy weapons. They brought to life the sleek and dangerous Golden Gun from “The Man with the Golden Gun”. These toys were designed to thrill, while at the same time capturing the iconic design aesthetics of the films they were based on.

The Lone Star Moonraker Space Gun is a faithful representation of the astronaut laser rifle featured prominently in Lewis Gilbert’s Bond movie, “Moonraker”. This striking piece of film memorabilia encapsulates the daring and futuristic theme of the film, bringing to life the laser rifles wielded by both the US space marines and Drax’s (Michael Lonsdale) space station guards during the movie’s climactic space battle.

In the film, a version of the rifle is also one of the cutting-edge gadgets tested at the Q-Branch workshop, subtly tucked away in a Brazilian monastery, further amplifying the significance of this weapon in the James Bond universe. In 1987, the release of “The Living Daylights” marked a new era for the James Bond franchise, introducing audiences to a fresh interpretation of 007 as portrayed by Timothy Dalton. Alongside this change, UK-based toy company Lone Star unveiled a trio of James Bond-themed toy pistols and guns that perfectly embodied this new phase of the franchise. The collection featured Bond’s Schnellfeuerpistole (Quick Firing Gun), a detailed toy that mirrored the movie weapon’s rapid-fire capabilities in an engaging, child-friendly format. Alongside this was the 9mm Luger Automatic, an accurate representation of Bond’s trusty sidearm in the film, brimming with the sophistication and edge that characterizes Bond himself. Completing the trio was Bond’s .22 Automatic with Shoulder Holster, a stylish toy offering that captured the secret agent’s readiness for action, complete with a shoulder holster for the full spy experience.
