July 7 sale promises to be an interesting sale for doll and teddy bear collectors. There will be thousands of dolls ranging from bisque to modern day vinyl which includes a large Sindy Collection.
Pedigree introduced Sindy in 1963 and she was marketed as ‘The Girl Next Door’. These dolls were around at the time when the London Fashion Scene was foremost with Carnaby Street and Mary Quant. Sindy’s fashions epitomise this era and there was even a child’s full size dressing up outfit in the same style as Sindy’s original 1963 outfit ‘Weekenders’.
