For over two decades, Sue Brewer has been a cherished contributor to World Collectors Net, sharing her vast knowledge, warm wit, and passion for collecting with readers around the world. Whether writing about vintage dolls, classic toys, autographs, comics, or playground games, Sue brings her subjects to life with a deep appreciation for history and an eye for detail that fellow collectors recognise and admire.

Sue’s love of writing began early—nurtured by a supportive primary school teacher in the 1950s. Though she wrote for years in private, filling notebooks with ideas and stories, it wasn’t until the 1980s—when she acquired her first word processor—that her publishing career began to flourish. She quickly established herself as a versatile freelance writer, penning articles on everything from frogs to fine china, as well as fiction for women’s magazines.
In the mid-1990s, Sue wrote Mike’s Bike for Ginn and Company’s ‘Supersonics’ reading scheme, and also created a series of children’s stories for the RNIB, printed in Braille for visually impaired readers.
Her fascination with collectables led her to specialise in dolls and toys—subjects she has written about extensively, including in numerous books commissioned by Pen & Sword and her own imprint, Virtual Valley. Sue is also the founder and editor of Doll Showcase, a much-loved quarterly magazine that has now been running for over 21 years.
