Montblanc Writers Edition – Virginia Woolf (2006)

Please share on your social media

The 2006 Montblanc Writers Edition honours Virginia Woolf. The design is part of Montblanc’s annual tribute to important literary figures and gives collectors a recognisable writing instrument associated with the author.

About the author

Virginia Woolf (1882–1941) was a British modernist novelist and essayist whose works include Mrs Dalloway, To the Lighthouse and The Waves.

Pen design and identification

The 2006 edition has a dark body with flowing wave-like decoration and platinum-plated fittings. Its surface treatment is a visual response to the movement and rhythm of Woolf’s writing.

The undulating decoration is the most useful feature for recognising the pen.

Versions and collecting notes

Inspect the patterned surface for abrasion and check that the cap and barrel align as intended.

Before purchasing, check the writing mechanism, condition of the resin or metalwork, nib where applicable, and the presence of the original presentation box and papers. Fountain pen, ballpoint and rollerball prices should be compared separately; avoid assuming every version was produced in the same quantity.
