Montblanc Writers Edition – Friedrich Schiller (2000)

Please share on your social media

The 2000 Montblanc Writers Edition honours Friedrich Schiller. The design is part of Montblanc’s annual tribute to important literary figures and gives collectors a recognisable writing instrument associated with the author.

About the author

Friedrich Schiller (1759–1805) was a German poet, dramatist and philosopher, known for The Robbers and William Tell.

Pen design and identification

The 2000 edition contrasts warm amber-coloured material with darker elements and gold-plated fittings. The fountain pen nib includes a crossbow reference to the story of William Tell.

The colour contrast and nib motif are useful for identifying the edition.

Versions and collecting notes

Check translucent or amber-coloured sections carefully for marks, discolouration and cracks that may be harder to see in photographs.

Before purchasing, check the writing mechanism, condition of the resin or metalwork, nib where applicable, and the presence of the original presentation box and papers. Fountain pen, ballpoint and rollerball prices should be compared separately; avoid assuming every version was produced in the same quantity.
