Montblanc has unveiled its 2026 Writers Edition collection, paying tribute to Bram Stoker, the Irish author whose 1897 novel Dracula became one of the most influential works of Gothic literature.

Launched on 1 July 2026, the new collection continues a tradition that began in 1992 with the Montblanc Ernest Hemingway Writers Edition. Each annual release celebrates a significant literary figure through specially designed writing instruments incorporating references to their life and work.

The Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Bram Stoker is particularly striking, combining Victorian-inspired details with imagery drawn from Dracula. The collection was developed with input from members of the Stoker family and includes several increasingly exclusive limited editions.

A Fountain Pen Inspired by Dracula

The principal edition features a deep red and black precious resin barrel, reflecting the Gothic atmosphere of Stoker’s most famous novel.

Its distinctive shape draws inspiration from nineteenth-century writing instruments and the Pravaz syringe, an early medical instrument that reflects Stoker’s interest in science and medicine.

The clip design incorporates small perforations reminiscent of a vampire’s bite, while the cap and cone feature decorative detailing influenced by the Victorian period. The nib includes an element of the Stoker family coat of arms.

The collection includes a fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint pen, with UK retail prices of £1,350, £1,080 and £970 respectively.

The Limited Edition 1897

The more exclusive Limited Edition 1897 commemorates the year Dracula was published.

Limited to 1,897 pieces, its design incorporates elements inspired by a bat’s folded wings, reflecting Count Dracula’s ability to transform into a bat.

The writing instrument features sterling silver with a special lacquer finish, while the cone draws inspiration from the Corinthian columns of London’s Lyceum Theatre, where Stoker worked as business manager.

The fountain pen is priced at £4,500, with the rollerball at £4,200.

Limited Editions 93 and 8

Two further fountain pens demonstrate the elaborate craftsmanship associated with Montblanc’s most exclusive Writers Editions.

The Limited Edition 93, restricted to 93 pieces, incorporates references to Victorian medical instruments and Celtic knot patterns associated with Stoker’s sister Matilda. The design uses precious metals and decorative elements inspired by the writer’s family heritage. Its UK retail price is £46,000.

The remarkable Limited Edition 8, produced in just eight examples, takes inspiration from the Victorian Arts and Crafts movement. Crafted using gold, enamel, mother-of-pearl and precious stones, it features floral motifs including garlic and wild roses, traditionally associated with protection against vampires.

This exceptional edition is listed at £204,000.

A New Chapter in Montblanc Collecting

The Montblanc Writers Edition series has developed a dedicated following since the introduction of the Ernest Hemingway pen in 1992. Subsequent editions have honoured literary figures including Agatha Christie, Oscar Wilde, Edgar Allan Poe, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen and Arthur Conan Doyle.

The Bram Stoker collection adds another distinctive chapter to the series, with designs likely to appeal to collectors of fine writing instruments, literary memorabilia and Dracula-related collectables.

Alongside the pens, Montblanc has introduced complementary accessories including purple ink, a notebook and cufflinks.

For collectors, the different editions offer a wide range of production quantities and materials, from the standard red and black resin writing instruments to the exceptionally limited gold and gemstone creations.

As a newly released collection, established secondary-market prices have yet to emerge. Future auction results will provide a clearer picture of how the Bram Stoker editions perform among Montblanc collectors.
