The Royal Copenhagen Flagship Store at Amagertorv in Copenhagen presents an eye-catching exhibition of Fashion Photography by the internationally renowned Photographer Morten Bjarnhof set in a graphic landscape of Royal Copenhagen’s black and white hand-painted porcelain to mark Copenhagen Fashion Week.

Anne Wintour, fashion editor at Vogue, once said “Photographers – if they are any good – want to create art.” This has also been a beacon for Morten Bjarnhof throughout his career. In many ways, the photographer’s painstaking attempts to capture details can be compared to the designer’s pursuit of perfection.

Morten Bjarnhof creates rooms with presence. His photos are invitations to step inside, become involved and lose yourself. “You should never forget that your picture has a job to do. Fashion or advertising, there is always someone in the wings with a very precise and rational ambition. The trick is to avoid the obvious and predictable. Never try to arrange scenery or squeeze an entire plot into a single photograph.”

Morten Bjarnhof’s pictures create graphic scenery for the Black Fluted Mega, a youthful retake of the classic Blue Fluted pattern from 1775, and the Black Half Lace, which by setting off the white porcelain creates an elegant, sophisticated unity that radiates both exclusivity and respect for history.
