Snowbabies™ celebrated their tenth anniversary in 1997 and this was celebrated with the launch of the Snowbabies Friendship ClubTM.

Snowbabies™ artist Kristi Jensen Pierro freelanced for Department 56® until 1987 when she was hired as a full-time illustrator/designer - one of her first projects was to develop the newly created Snowbabies™ series.

Pictured left is the 2000 club memebrship piece "Sailing The Seas.

Kristi's ideas for Snowbabies™ are then sent to the sculptor who model the three-dimensional prototype to the exact specifications of her artwork.

Pictured right is the 2000 Club Exclusive Piece "Storytime".

In 1998 the first year-round Village, Seasons BayTM was introduced, representing a late 19th-century American resort town. Elf LandTM, an extension of the North Pole SeriesTM was also introduced as a suburb where the elves live and play after the holidays.
