Left:
A wax or plaster mould is produced using the drawings.



Right:
Once the mould is ready, the fine detail is added and the surface smoothed.

The Smurfs are then taken and pressed, adding details to their bases.

All the Smurfs were originally hand painted thus giving rise to certain colour variations within Smurfs.
