Hi, does anyone know anything about what appears to be an early Worcester pot with lid that I have. It would appear to be about 1780 in period unmarked with a scale blue gound with white panels and handpainted flowers. It's not a light piece of pottery: The pot with the lid weighs 1.25 kgs. It's 6" (15 cms) to the top of the finial with the lid on, and 7"(18 cms) acrosss the lid rim. It looks like a modern casserole pot but I have no idea what they would have used it for in the late 18th century, any ideas would be appreciated, cheers John.
