Gold TeapotThe ultimate golden wedding anniversary present is coming under the hammer at Bonhams in London next month. Included in a sale of Fine Silver & Objects of Vertu at 101 New Bond Street on 5 July is a 22 carat gold teapot estimated to fetch between £6,000 – 7,000.

Setting the ‘gold standard’ for teapots everywhere, this teapot stands 12 cm high, and weighs 21 troy oz. Dating from the Swinging Sixties, it was made by Jane Penrice How, of How of Edinburgh Ltd, and is marked London, 1965.

Tea continues to be one of the UK’s best-loved beverages, with roughly 165 million cups of tea consumed daily.
