Alf Robert, Alderman and Mayor of Grantham ran a Grocery store and Post Office on the corner of North Parade and Broad Street for over 30 years in the 1920s to 1950s. He and his wife Beatrice had two daughters, the second of whom became Britain's first woman Prime Minister.

Thebuilding was built in the late 18th Century and the actual model produced is based on a photo of it around 1912.

Hazle Boyles says "Being on a corner, I could have chosen either of the two sides to model, but I liked the semi-circular window at the top of the house. It is a feature which is to be found on a number of other buildings in Grantham, and one we haven't done in any other ceramic."

The building has been produced in two editions - a larger model in a Limited Edition of 1000 (pictured right), and a smaller general release model.
