It’s Raining Cats, Dogs And Bears At Christie’s: Christie’s summer Teddy Bears sale on Tuesday 17 July at Christie’s South
Kensington will feature a whole menagerie of cuddly animals including cats, dogs, rabbits as well
as bears and other furry things. Comprising 120 lots, the sale is expected to realise £100,000 and
the view is free and open to the general public from Saturday 14 July. Estimates start from £150
providing the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to a new furry friend or buy a unique gift for a

Desert Orchid Back In The Starting Stalls: Bonhams second Racing Sale at Newmarket to be held on July 20th takes place at the premises of Europe's largest bloodstock auctioneers, Tattersalls. Among the many items on sale that celebrate the Sport of Kings is a painting of a prince among horses, Desert Orchid, the legendary steeplechaser. The picture of `Dessie', an oil by Barrie Linklater, is estimated to sell for £6,000 to £8,000. (27th June 2007) click

Lowry Masterpiece Sells For Record £3.8 Million: Good Friday, Daisy Nook, a masterpiece by L.S. Lowry (1887-1976) sold today at Christie’s
in London for £3,772,000, the highest ever price for the artist at auction. The picture was last seen at
auction in 1970 when it sold for £16,800 and set a record price for the artist at the time. (8th June 2007) click
