Thomas Kinkade, America's most collected living artist, has released his first-ever limited edition sculptures titled "Faith" and "Prince of Peace." Known primarily for his paintings, the "Painter of Light™" has now turned his talents to an inspirational sculpture collection. "Faith" depicts the artists' own hands folded in prayer. "Prince of Peace" is a bust of Jesus Christ inspired by a painting of the same name that Kinkade created while an art student.
Each sculpture is available in solid bronze as an Artist Proof Edition (limited to 30 castings only) and in mixed media metal as a Standard Numbered Edition (limited to 150 castings only). The sculptures stand approximately 11.5" tall for "The Prince of Peace" and 13.5" tall for "Faith."
"My hope is that these sculptures will bring comfort and hope to many in the same way that images of Jesus Christ and prayer have for centuries," says Thomas Kinkade. "In this sculpture, the Prince of Peace is shown in a moment of quiet compassion. Images of Jesus adorn countless churches and inspire us with a sense of His wisdom and divine sensitivity to our human aspirations and challenges."
Linda Mariano, Vice President of Marketing and Licensing for The Thomas Kinkade Company, explains the process: "Every sculpture is an original casting from a mold based on a soft clay sculpture. Each one is created under Thom's explicit direction with final details sculpted by Thomas Kinkade himself. Each piece features the edition number and Thomas Kinkade's signature in the casting."
The sculptures are available exclusively through Thomas Kinkade Signature Galleries. Kinkade will unveil the collection at local galleries across the country this fall as part of his Ambassador of Light Tour. In his role as the Ambassador of Light for the Points of Light Foundation, Thomas Kinkade raises money for local affiliates of the Volunteer Center National Network.
"The Thomas Kinkade Company will continue to innovate, create and grow with the art market and its collectors," says Dan Byrne, President and CEO of the Thomas Kinkade Company. "The Company maintains one of the highest quality standards for art reproduction in the world. The new collection of Thomas Kinkade sculptures is another example of our commitment to quality and beauty."
The new line of sculptures retails from $2,250-$3,950.
