Established in 1897 by William Moorcroft (born 1873), then working for James Macintyre & Co Ltd at Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, designed his first pieces of pottery.

Values for Moorcroft pottery are continually rising and contemporary pieces have been described as the 'antiques of the future'. It is not difficult to understand why when pieces are observed first hand.

1997 saw the company celebrate its centenary. The year also saw the production of a new book, MOORCROFT The Phoenix Years and an exciting centenary piece, the Phoenix Bird Vase. The piece featured a Phoenix rising up the neck of the vase and is the only piece to feature the Phoenix.

The Moorcroft Collectors Club continues to grow keeping members in touch with the latest developments and auction news. Members of the club are also invited to special events and can purchase special edition pieces. Many of the earlier Collectors Club Designs are very sort after.
