Great question,

As you are probably aware, Janet does not list the matte version on her
website. On the Lladro company historical catalog, only the MATTE
version IS listed and as introduced 1970, retired 1981 with an image of
an obviously glossy version.

I'd use the highest value posted for the glossy Columbus bookend
version as a comparable from A Retired Collection.com as the
insurance value. Still, I'd wait for Janet to chime in on this.
