Hummel & Goebel Message Board Posted by Clyde A. VanCise on June 20, 2009 at 02:47:26: I have two Hummel figurenes that I can not find information on. They are both marked V with the bee centered in the V. and W. Germany. Also marked by W. Goebel. The date on both is 1956. Also the circle with C in the center. One is of an old man, 6 1/2 inches tall, holding four potted plants (Schau 96). He is wearing a brown long tailed coat, green pants and a bluish visored cap.Standing on a circle base. The second one is maked the same except (Schau 68). This old man, 5 6/8 inches tall, also has a bluish cap on, long blue coat that goes to the ground,(there is a cat rubbing against the back of his coat) yellow waist coat with a bow tie, brown pants. He is also wearing glasses. He is holding in front of him a potted cactus plant. Beside him on the (R)are 2 cactus plants and one potted cactus plants on the (L). The base is two steps that resemble flag stone. In front of him is a watering can. They are both signed in cursive and it looks like ( C. Spitzweg or C. Lpitzweg) Can you direct me to a source / web site, that would list these unusual Hummels and what they would be worth at retail. Thank You.
