Hantel Miniatures Message Board Posted by Lori on September 02, 2007 at 14:53:57: In Reply to: Re: Hantel Collection posted by Aileen on September 02, 2007 at 13:59:51: Hi Girls, I have a few minutes here - the dogs are outside and the boys, including David are all still asleep! It seems Sally has disappeared for the moment? Anyway, I think I will add my 2 bits here also. I agree completely that Hantel prices are way down at this time, and may stay down for good now that Hantel has closed its doors. But, I have learned to never say never. When I started collecting Hantel in earnest about 6 or 7 years ago, the prices were very low, and then had a complete resurgence. I really don't see these big ups and downs happening again in the future though with Hantel no longer in existence. But, I could be wrong. Just like Emily and Aileen, I love my collection and still get so much joy from just gazing at it. Most of my very favorites are the early pieces designed by Frances such as the Easter Ex., the monkeys, Rumpelstiltskin, and of course I could go on and on....but I also love some of the newer pieces designed by Mike such as the Punch and Judy booth and Old King Cole's throne. I am not too worried what the secondary market does because I don't think I will ever want to get rid of my collection. I plan to keep it to enjoy for as long as I am on this earth! And my secret wish is that I will someday have a little granddaughter to share my love of miniatures who can inherit my treasures. So, I am always on the lookout for the few remaining holes in my collection, as well as variations. But, I am not as willing now to pay higher prices to obtain them as I have already spent so much on my collection and I do need some money to retire some day! I am so glad to have this space to post our greetings and thoughts. May it be here forever! Lori
