I have for sale an extremely rare Doulton bone china Mother Polar Bear & Cub on Ice - HN 2637 (15' High)

Designer - Noke - Art Director

Signed in full by Eric Webster - Director of the Prestige Department. Eric Webster 1910 -1962 - 'Apprenticed to Doulton at the age of 15, as a painter of landscapes, floral and bird subjects. He was one of the first artists to paint early Royal Doulton figures and in 1925 took charge (Director of the Prestige Dept.) of a special section for painting animal models; he was responsible for the training of young artists. Webster painted 'Monaveen' (horse model) for the Queen. He also painted the first championship dog model, `Lucky Star of Ware.'

Backstamp - Doulton backstamp with year number for 1947 (probably made 1953?).

Extremely rare (only one other known to exist in this colourway and this is unsigned). Mint condition with no restoration / cracks / crazing etc.

Asking price min. £6,500 but will make decision at the end August based on offers received.

Prefer the item to be collected from Dorset if possible.
