: Dear Fellow Doll Collector's, I've never had to do this before but they say there's always a first time for everything and unfortunately I have encountered a horrible doll business called "Lane's Gift and Collectibles".  It's located in Texarkana, AR it's on the net. On March 4th I saw two particular dolls made by Linda Rick I was searching for. So I didn't care about their price I just wanted to own nice clean dolls from a legitimate doll store (or so I thought).  Only the dolls shown weren't even available through the store.  I learned after placing my order and waiting for a confiramtion by email that never came that they would ship the dolls only after they got them through the Doll Maker Company.  They never said on their website call to make sure the dolls are in stock or we won't have to order first.  Three days later I called them and asked them if my dolls were being shipped.  I was told they had to be ordered. I then said I didn't wish to wait and why wasn't I told by email or phone they didn't have the dolls. I was then told it was too late they ordered the dolls and if I cancelled I would be charged a 20% restocking fee when the dolls arrive in to their store. I reluctantly said, "Well then I guess I have no choice you're holding me to ordering with your store".  I was also told the dolls would arrive by Tuesday March 11, 2008.  To which I even knew that was non-sense how could they ship that soon. It was all about not losing a sale.  These dolls arrived defective. FedEx left them out on a porch with pouring rain. Box came dented and muddy.  One doll box was dented.  One doll came with a green spot of 1/4" X 1/4" on her cheek that can't be removed. The other doll came with a head that won't sit straight and one bow missing from her shoe. I love Linda Rick dolls but I'm so upset right now with the Doll Maker and Friends Company (they wouldn't lift a finger to help) and I'm really mad because the retailer of Lane's Gifts and Collectibles said you know in order for them to do a charge back you have to send us the dolls back then you'll get your money minus all postage!  But yet these jerks know I'll be the one losing $40.00 in postage and were crass about it, the man on the phone even said we know how all this works.  This store is horrible and I know they purposedly sent me defective items because both dolls were in boxes that had tears on the bottoms wear they use the silk tie to tie the doll into the box.  Also one box had a corner totally beat up on it. This Lane's Gift and Collectibles has robbed me of $220.00 don't let it happen to you or a doll collector friend.  Spread the word that they don't have fair customer service and rob your money.
