All: FWIW: This is NOT a D56 monitored customer service forum. However, I had an email exchange today with the Dept56 Customer Service Manager (Melinda Seegers) about several buildings that I need to get repaired. Per her, Dept 56 DOES NOT have a repair service. They do however have some replacement parts for more recent buildings and accessories. For those, you need to call 800.548.8696 and ask them about the specific model in question. Below is a paste of my email conversation with her: --------------- We will certainly pass on your comments. Thank you for taking the time to write. Not the answer I was looking for related to the service. We have a rather large North Pole and ElfLand village (photo at: www.willadrews.com/images/Christmas/village.jpg ) that’s now over 105 buildings, and I have 3 that are having trouble that I was hoping I could get serviced. - Robby Robot Factory : Purchased as a gift for last Christmas, so by purchase is over 12mo old, but this was the 1st Christmas on display and the robot’s left eye no longer works. - Christmasland Tree Toppers (2007) : continually blows the expensive 12v bulbs that its base and power supply are designed for - Poinsettia Palace (2005) : LEDs across the front no longer function. I realize that Enesco now owns D56, and that the warranty per your notes are only for 12mo from purchase, but considering that the seasonal ones come out of the packaging for only 1mo out of the year… I would ask that you guys re-think the warranty thing to say 3yrs, because for a seasonal product like this… in reality depending on when the customer purchased the product and when its next opportunity for display is… the customer could in reality end up with a no warranty product (much like my Robby Robot). While we do purchase a few new buildings and accessories to add each year in general, we most often purchase buildings and its accessories and give them as Christmas gifts to the other family members in the house here. That means when Edelweiss Collectibles in Houston calls us and tells us that new stuff is in, or asks if we want to special order something, we most often buy it then, and put it away for upcoming Christmas presents. They get opened on Christmas day, get put away, then get incorporated into the village the following year. Guess I will have to attempt the repairs on my own to see what I can get functional once again. Our warranty is 12 months from date of purchase with a sales receipt. Warranty coverts lighting and animation only (no warranty on porcelain breakage). Say one of the recent ones like the Robby Robot Factory of the North Pole series? From: MsLitTown [mailto:MsLitTown@Dept56.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 05, 2010 3:00 PM Subject: RE: Department56 Customer Service Question Department 56 has never offered any repair services. We do stock a variety of replacement bulbs, adapters and small add-on accessories for more current buildings. To find out if we stock the part you need, please call 1(800) 548-8696.
