An African proverb says: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”. When the dry season arrives to the Savannah, the female elephants lead the herd on a millenary route in search of water. African Savannah is a masterpiece measuring over one meter long. It is noteworthy for its perfectly modeled forms and the wealth of textures only the artists at Lladró are able to achieve. With their hands, they turn porcelain into the rough skin of an elephant, into the soft coat of the giraffe. This heightened degree of realism is enhanced by the matte finish, which accentuates every fold. The piece speaks to us of the value of wisdom which is passed on from old to young in a legacy of respect and protection for nature and the environment.
