Cherished Teddies Discussion Message Board Posted by Wes on July 10, 2009 at 05:30:35: In Reply to: Re: HOW TO JOIN THE NEW TTT ---- FOR FREE posted by Karen on July 10, 2009 at 03:26:39: Hi, What happened was that on Tuesday TTT's old website registration expired. Vivienne (the creator of TTT) decided that she was no longer able to continue the website. So as far as I know, all previous content on the old website is gone. I had over 700 posts there and 19 months of news article that I written there since December 2007 that are all lost. So no one is sadder at the loss of the old TTT info than me. I asked Vivienne if I could start TTT on another website and she said go for it (which I greatly appreciated). I had the new TTT website up and running by the end of Tuesday (the same day that the old TTT abruptly stopped with no notice). Exactly what money are you talking about? The TTT dues were only $10 per year and I was a paying member like everyone else (and I was happy to do it). It is my understanding that Vivienne was not sending renewal bills for the last several months. I think we all owe Vivienne a tremendous debt of thanks for the 11 years of her wonderful website. I am putting my money where my mouth is on this. I am paying for the new website on YUKU to be ad free and I am not going to charge anything or accept any contributions from anyone. That way if I stop it some day someone can't complain that they were somehow shortchanged. Every penny Vivienne collected from TTT went to the cost of the website. But if anyone feels they have been shortchanged, I will PERSONALLY pay back the prorated amount of your membership that you did not receive when the original website shut down July 7, 2009. I have always been a volunteer at TTT and have never gotten a penny from it (quite to the contrary, I spend out of my own pocket for prizes, postage to mail them, and pay the same dues as everyone else). Of course I normally don't mention this but for someone to complain that they did not get their money's worth is ridiculous. Would it make you happier if I charged everyone for the new TTT (except for people who had paid previously)? Isn't it simpler just to have it be free from now on for everyone? What does someone who paid previously lose? In my opinion, not a darn thing. To ANYONE who wants a prorated refund of this year's dues previously paid to Vivienne, email me a scan of your cancelled check, bank statement or your PayPal payment printout showing the date of your last $10 payment. So for example, if you paid six months ago, you would get a $5 refund from me since you got six months of service out of the 12 months promised for $10. If you can't scan it, email me and we can arrange you to mail me a photocopy of your payment proof. I will send your prorated payment right away. Oh, and by the way, this is not the first time I have done this. Teddie Town shut down its website and I continued to run it as a bulletin board out of my own pocket and even refunded people who complained about somehow not getting everything they were owed from the creator of it. IN BEARS WE TRUST,
