: : How do people aquire prototypes? Besides ebay I mean. After they leave Enesco are they sold there? Or are they sold at special events only?? I thought maybe they would be placed in a random CT box and if you found one you were lucky...lol! I know that is not true. But I know that prototypes do not come with boxes and know why they are made. So if anyone knows the journey behind them I'd be interested in knowing.

: : My friend and I also have Bronte & gage and they are both prototypes with the same sticker dates on bottom is this common?

: : Is there any way to know how many protoypes of one piece there is???? Just curious fun!! Thanks....

: Great question Becky......I'm sure that Wes will have an answer or will find out for us. I just assumed that at the factory after the piece was made, that those left around were taken or given to workers, and they found their way to e-bay......I'm probably very wrong on that idea, but its a great question, I too would like to hear.

I emailed Enesco at one time and asked them. They told me that prototypes are never sold that they are sent to their musesum. I do know that some people got them at the back door store when it was open. I asked a Ebay seller one time and she told me they were sold to
Enesco employees. She told me that her entire collection was made up of nothing but prototypes and
she sold her extra prototypes on Ebay.
