Has anyone ever come across a Carlton Ware Snowdrop Pattern on a Bleu Royale background? I have a bowl which is definitely a Carlton Ware shape, but the backstamp has been deliberately obscured and overglazed at the point of manufacture, WHY? If it is a fake, surely a fake backstamp would be included, what would be the point of obscuring it! The enamel work and gilding is superb quality, could this possibly be a sample piece? I guess it was made around 1946-50.Over to the detectives.............!!!!!
