the button you found comes from a volunteer reserve infantry force formed in 1793 . In 1881 the regiments of the british army were re-organized and the county militias became battalions of regular regiments.The button was made by Hugh Foley in Dublin. the one I have seen shows the crown over the shamrock with the words kerry militia at the button and a number 107.
