I recently picked up a button in a field. It is creamy white in colour, about half an inch across with no obvious marks on either surface and weighs way more than it ought to for its size. I think it must be made of lead. I know lead weights are sometimes placed in the hems of clothes to make them hang properly. Wouldn't it just be slipped in though? It has thread holes like any regular button. Any suggestions anyone?
