Hello, I recently bought 11 pounds of vintage (50's-70's) buttons. The lot includes numerous sets of buttons. Most of these are plain, round, flat plastic buttons that have been sorted by color/size. There is a bag that weighs 1.5 pounds that are all the same, pearlized, cream color, 2 hole, raised edge, 15/16"... this is the largest sorted quantity of one exact button. There are many other sets, also some unsorted bags. Shapes include hearts, flowers, and carrots. Materials include metal, MOP, abalone, rhinestones, leather, etc., but the vast majority are plastic and what I would consider plain. I want to sell these buttons, on or off Ebay. I purchased them from an elderly seamstress at a charity sale.
If you are interested in purchasing these, I can provide pictures via your email address. I will accept any offers starting at $50 plus actual shipping via Priority Mail.
Also,if I get no responses here, I will list on Ebay. I am a seller with 100% positive feedback (400+). Can anyone tell me if a lot like this would be of interest to a collector, artisan, or other? Would it be more likely that a person would want the entire collection or smaller quantities? I am not trying to get top dollar! I just want to get rid of them and make a few bucks... Without actually seeing the buttons, can anyone help me decide if I should try to sell them as one lot (preferred) or if breaking it up would generate more interest?
Thank you very much! -Doreen
