My 5x great grandfather was John LEE 1724-1795 of Snow Hill, Birmingham, button maker and American merchant.
Can anyone tell me if his buttons would have carried a maker's mark at that time? Has anyone heard of this manufacturer?
I assume his product would have been brass button for military uniforms, but that is only a guess.
Any information would be gratefully received.
