I have inherited two lovely buttons which my mother kept as treasures. They are enamelled metal (possibly brass) and measure one and a quarter inches in diameter. They have a blue background, a red sailing boat in the midground with a white sail and 4 letter 'T's in gold on the sail. There is a man in the boat wearing a gold hat and a black cloak with a hood. He is rowing his boat. The boat is on pale blue water with a flower in the foreground. At either side there are romantic, fantastic buildings with arches across the sky in black outline in gold.
On the reverse is a 4 leafed stud. On each of the leaves are the words: 1. Rain 2. Grevi 3. Paris 4. S.G.D.O.
Anyone have any information about these button, history etc?
Regards
Marilyn
