: Hello, I don't know a thing about buttons, but when I was in New Mexico, up in the mountains, not a town for miles along an old 2 track, I found a button.  The button is perfect, like it was carved out of stone.  Something told me inside to pick it up and keep it.  I was wondering if maybe at one time, buttons were made of stone, you can tell that it was used as there is a wear pattern where the thread went through.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!  :)
