I would love to see a picture of one of these 'foals' that you claim are fake.
Firstly, to create this 'fake' you would need almost an industrial scale process to be so precise as to just the 'rounding' of the hooves was the only diff. and produce them in such numbers
Secondly, the main 'area' of fake would be in the colourway for any 'scammer' - this would be more likely
But .... and this may startle you, the Beswick 728 comical foal is actually the fake
Hertwig in Germany created 3 different 'comical foals' in their range in the late 1930's, that measured heights of 9.5cms, 13cms (on small oval stand), and 14cms - model nos 2868,2786 and 2864
I have the black satin Beswick model and one of the hertwig models (13cms) = they are virtually identical- and perhaps the hooves are more rounded on the Hertwig model ..... you starting to get the picture

Now, which one is fake?
