: The values in the book are average for the models in fair to good condition.  They discuss it on the bottom of page 16 and continuing on to page 17.

: I was a bit confused about it too until I took the time to read through the entire intro.  It's going to be causing a lot of confusion/grief for people trying to sell their models and buyers saying "but the VALUE guide says it's only worth THIS!"

: : Can anyone tell me their opinion of the new Breyer Guide model values. I do not understand how most of the models decreases in value by half the day you buy it and to try and buy any of the models in the book at the value that the guide gives you on EBAY, the Antique dealers or even some flea markets is a laugh. I assume this book is for insurance company purposes only so they will not have to pay full replacement price. The book is wonderful to people starting out that need to I.D. their models but some of the rarer models I have had since the 60's are continuing to go down in price. Is this due to lack of interest in the hobby or to much model fraud by unscrupulous dealers with closet artist that are duplicating the rarer models so you do not know what it true or reproduction. Please let me know your thoughts.
