Beatrix Potter Collectibles Message Board Posted by Kelli on August 30, 2007 at 03:26:54: I have for sale a collection of Beatrix Potter books and one Beatrix Potter VHS movie. I will describe each item in detail. Up first is a 12 book set, with the books being numbered from 1-12. The book states that it was first published in 1902, but that this impression was published in 1986. It is copyrighted 1902 to Frederick Warne & Co. The set is in the original box, but the box is torn and is missing pieces. The set includes the following books, all in very good condition: The Tale of Peter Rabbit, The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin, The Tale of Gloucester, The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, The Tale of Two Bad Mice, The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher, The Tale of Tom Kitten, The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies, The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse, and The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes. Up next is a second copy of The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle. The book was first published in 1905, with this impression being 1985. It is copyrighted 1905 to Frederick Warne & Co. It is also in very good condition, with there being some small, barely noticable indents on the covers. Up next is a second copy of The Tale of Tom Kitten. This book reads "Copyright, 1907 By Frederick Warne & Co. Copyright Renewed 1935. Unlike the others, this book has a green cover. On the first page, there is an inscription to the person given the book. It just reads "To Kelli-Merry Christmas-Christmas 1985. Grammy". The only thing the author had printed on that page was the title The Tale of Tom Kitten. It also appears that a child has drawn a star in crayon lightly on some of the pages. Up next is the book Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes. This cover is green as well. The copyright reads "Copyright in all countries signatory to the Berne Convention, Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd. London, England". This book is in excellent condition. Up next is a second copy of The Tale of Benjamin Bunny. This book contains a green hardcover, as well as a white paper cover. The white paper cover does show some discoloration around the edges. The copyright reads "Copyright 1904 By Frederick Warne and Co. Copyright Renewed 1932". This book does have an inscription on the first page. It reads "To Carmela From Uncle Earl Aunt Mickey and Lisa Easter 1982 'He is Risen!'" Other than that, the book is in excellent condition. Up next is a large hardcover book titled Favorite Tales of Beatrix Potter: The Tale of Peter Rabbit, The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin, The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, The Tale of Two Bad Mice, The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, The Tailor of Gloucester, The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher, The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit, The Story of Miss Moppet, The Tale of Tom Kitten, The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck: With over 250 color illustrations. It is copyrighted 1985 to Octopus Books, Inc. It is in excellent condition. Up next is another large hardcover book titled Beatrix Potter Giant Treasury. It is copyrighted 1984 by Crown Publishers, Inc. It is also in excellent condition. Finally, we have a Sony VHS tape titled "Meryl Streep Narrates The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher and The Tale of Peter Rabbit By Beatrix Potter", with Music By Lyle Mays, Illustrations by David Jorgensen. It is produced by Rabbit Ears Productions, who holds the copyright in 1987. It is 30 minutes color. The movie sleeve shows signs of wear, but the VHS tape appears to be in good condition. All reasonable offers considered!!!
